The Belleville High School Varsity Softball team stayed perfect in the league with a 10-0 shutout against Dearborn High on May 11. Pitcher Jayla Jackson threw a one-hitter striking out 11 batters in 5 innings.
Kacee McWilliams had 3 hits, Meriya Zalma had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Mackenzie Kennedy had a single and 3 RBI. Hailey Clement had a double and a triple while Andrea Rodriguez had 3 hits. Jayla Jackson tripled and singled for the Tigers.
The BHS varsity softball team’s next home game is 4 p.m. Thursday, May 19, against Garden City, the only other undefeated team in the league. The softball team would like the community to come out and support them.
Plans are to name the field for Coach Peggy Curtis at 3:30 p.m. before the 4 p.m. last home game of the season on Thursday, May 26.
