On Jan. 28, Van Buren Education Association President Marcus Hosman released the following statement regarding the recent investigation around M-STEP results in the Van Buren Public Schools.
“The Van Buren Education Association cautions everyone involved to pause before passing judgment on the investigation under way in the Van Buren Public Schools.
“Jumping to conclusions about the nature of the ‘testing improprieties’ or labeling the matter a ‘cheating scandal’ unfairly tarnishes the excellent reputations of five educators with outstanding records of serving students for 13 to 25 years.
“The Association will continue advocating for its members by demanding a fair and transparent resolution in which teachers are returned to their rightful place in the classroom.”
