Girl Scout Troop 77515, Cub Scout Pack 793, and Boy Scout Troop 231, along with parents and their troop leaders, delivered 476 bags and boxes of food to the Emergency Food Pantry housed at Belleville First United Methodist Church located at 417 Charles St. on Saturday, Nov. 8.
The scouts were excited and worked very hard! Over a period of four hours, the food was sorted, date-checked for freshness, and stored by 27 scouts, parents, leaders, and food closet volunteers. The food was donated from 14 subdivisions. This is the most food collected by the scouts in recent years.
It will help fill many food bags and the Little Free Food Panty on Charles Street for several months, said Marilyn Wood, pantry coordinator. She thanks everyone who participated.
