People attending the Oct. 2 State of the Tri-Communities Breakfast watched the five speakers and their videos and slides in Van Buren Township’s Black Box Theater before convening to the cafeteria at the VBT Community Center for a breakfast catered by Rachel Lynn Catering.
The annual event is put on by the Belleville Area Chamber of Commerce so local leaders can give updates on their projects. Chamber president Dinara Strikis greeted those attending.
Then the presentations began – 20 minutes each – by Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, Van Buren Public Schools superintendent Pete Kudlak, VBT supervisor Kevin McNamara, Belleville mayor Ken Voigt, and Sumpter Township manager Ken Marten. Marten’s video about Sumpter Township featured him playing a harmonica in the background.
