We’ve been asked to clarify the damage done at the front of a home after a resident filed an official complaint to police about the drift race track in their neighborhood. The story on page eight of the Oct. 16 Independent said that damage was done to his yard, which felt like retaliation. He reported at the Oct. 7 township board meeting that a truck came by 45 minutes after the official complaint was filed and manuvered so it threw gravel all over his yard. But, the deep ruts are in the roadway not in his yard and the ruts remain. Gravel was thrown everywhere, the resident said.
We apologize for not reporting his comments correctly.
