12 north-south beams installed at Denton Road bridge

Six north-south beams for the new Denton Road bridge were installed on Aug. 27. Each 50,000-pound beam is 61 feet long. A total of 12 beams will be installed. The final six were delivered on Aug. 28. Van Buren Township officials said the county plans to have the bridge done in 2025. It’s been closed for 1,068 days, since Wayne County abruptly shut it down because it was unsafe to use.
