The Belleville Area District Library, along with its many volunteers, will present its 10th Garden Walk from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 10.
“Dally Down the Alley” will showcase six gardens in the city of Belleville. The “Alley” is located adjacent to Roland Street and all gardens are accessible from that Alley. No driving long distances this year. Everyone should be able to see all the gardens during the 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. timeframe.
The six gardens are very diverse and each has a different feel. Begin with an Opening Act, a Healing Garden (complete with a fairy garden), an English Garden, a “Hippie” Garden that includes a vegetable patch, a Bungalow Garden, along with a Surprise Garden. Since all gardens this year are “city” gardens, this is a great year to get ideas for smaller areas, the organizers say.
Advance tickets are $10 each and available until July 9 at the Belleville Area District Library, Garden Fantasy Greenhouse & Florist, and Garden Fantasy on Main. On the day of the Garden Walk tickets will be $12 each and ONLY available at the “Alley” on Roland Street. Addresses will be available at that time.
The Gardener’s Marketplace will open at 10:30 a.m. before the gardens open at 11 a.m. Roland Street is only one block long and will be closed so that vendors can showcase their creative wares before and during the Garden Walk.
All proceeds benefit the Belleville Area District Library. For more information call (734) 699-3291 or visit www.belleville.lib.mi.us .
