Two local men suspects in separate cases

Jeffrey T. Thurman, 18, of Van Buren Township is one of three suspects accused in the murder of Brandon Cross, 19, in Pittsfield Township on April 2.
On Aug. 31, the preliminary exams for the suspects were adjourned for a second time, this time until Oct. 5 in 14A-1 District Court.
The other two suspects are Calvin D. Vanderhoff, 16, of Canton Township and Xavier F. Payne, 16, of Ann Arbor.
27 indicted by Ohio grand jury
Vario Haymer, 24, of Belleville was among 27 people recently indicted by a Wood County, Ohio, grand jury on a wide range of sex and drug-related charges.
Haymer was indicted on charges of money laundering, forgery, receiving stolen property, and possessing criminal tools, according to bind-over papers from Perrysburg Municipal Court. Perrysburg, Ohio, is southwest of Toledo.
