State Rep. Joe Bellino named Legislator of the Year

State Rep. Joe Bellino was honored recently as the Retired Detroit Police and Fire Fighters Association’s Legislator of the year for 2017. The award is in recognition of Rep. Bellino’s work sponsoring a new law providing income tax relief to younger police and fire department retirees not covered by Social Security, including many who made sacrifices with the Detroit bankruptcy. Bellino’s measure was signed into law late last year. Bellino’s district covers Sumpter Township.
