Sumpter Township Police Lt. Eric Luke and his wife Trully were named King and Queen of the Mardi Gras party to benefit the Sumpter Parks and Recreation Commission on Saturday night at the PNA Hall.
The party was sold out for a week. Jim Posegay, last year’s king, and his wife Queen Joannie passed their crowns on to the Lukes. Jim said the party was running out of wine, so someone ran to 5-Star for 20 more bottles. In addition to the entrance tickets, the party raised $479 in a Chinese Auction and Crystal Harris won $280 in the 50-50 drawing.
