Bridge work finally under way — bridge closed starting Monday, Dec. 5

According to a Van Buren Township Police Nixle alert, the Huron River Bridge in Van Buren Township will be closed to traffic beginning the morning of Monday, Dec. 5. for approximately 14 days. Crews will be performing concrete patchwork to improve the ride quality of the road.
Motorists who frequent the Huron River Bridge are advised to plan for extra travel time.
The posted detours from the east:
Haggerty to I-94 South Service Drive to Belleville Road to Main Street.
The posted detours from the west:
Main Street to Belleville Road to I-94 South Service Drive to Haggerty.
