Belleville stabbing case postponed until May 15 at 34th District Court

Sealisa Marie Jones, 43, of Belleville, who has been charged with Assault With a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault) and Domestic Violence – Aggravated, had her preliminary exam adjourned until May 15 at 34th District Court in Romulus.
Police report she stabbed her husband.
Her preliminary exam had been set for April 24, but at that session her attorney Todd Perkins said he had just received the discovery information that day and asked for an adjournment because he needed time to study it.
Judge David Parrott granted the ajournment and set the preliminary exam for 9 a.m. May 15.
At about 10:30 p.m., April 11, Belleville Police were called to 308 Oxford Court in Victoria Commons for a domestic dispute.
While officers were en route to the home they were informed that is was more than a domestic dispute, since the wife had allegedly stabbed her husband in the chest.
The 53-year-old husband was transported to the hospital and the wife taken into custody.
The son had called police after the stabbing, Belleville Police Chief Gene Taylor said. The couple reportedly had been arguing over money.
The three Belleville police officers handing the case were Cpl. Todd Schrecengost and Officers Joshua Wolfe and Jonathon Heimstra. The three officers were all in the courtroom on April 24 when the case was postponed for another three weeks.
