The first Costumed Monster Mutt Walk put on by the Belleville Central Business Community on Saturday afternoon drew 29 dogs, said chairwoman Janet Millard.
The CBC presented $500 to the Friends of Michigan Animals Rescue as part of the event and the dog food brought by entrants was also donated to FMAR.
These are the winners of the costume competition.

• 1st – Macy, a Labradoodle, owned by Becky Pepin
• 2nd – Dixie, a Corgi/Bichon, owned by Angelica Armstrong
• 3rd – Sofie Rosie, a Mini Yorkee, owned by Karen LaBelle
Scariest:
• 1st – Zeus, mixed heritage, owned by Margaret Feria
• 2nd – Max, a shepard, owned by Pamela Maus
• 3rd – Myrna, a Havanese mix, and Skippy, a Jack Russell mix, owned by Sharon Fewless

• Pugsley, a Pugle, and Shadow, a Pug Lab, owned by Sandy, Kathy, and Sherry Cross
• 2nd – Vivie, a Mini Golden Doodle, owned by Mendie Russell
• 3rd – Trixie, a Husky mix, owned by Kevin Roberts
