Jim Wigginton, 73, a retired Marine and private equity executive who lives in Van Buren Township, is the first American to skydive at Mont Saint Michel in France. He jumped with French Special Forces on Sept. 24.
According to a legend, the Archangel Michael appeared in 708 to the bishop of Avranches, and instructed him to build a church on the rocky islet.
