VBT Police seek man who defecated in box, put on shelf at Meijer

Van Buren Township police are seeking a man who entered the VBT Meijer store at 10:35 p.m., Sept. 27, and defecated in a cardboard box which he left on a shelf in the toy department.
On the way to the toy department he stole merchandise from the electronics department, said VBT Police Lt. Charles Bazzy. The man left in a light-colored Ford Escape.
Lt. Bazzy said Meijer employees found the box and called police. VBT put the picture of the man on its Facebook page to reach out to the public for help in identifying the subject. Meijer corporate officials were shocked and objected at first so the posting came down. After a discussion and agreement with Meijer the posting was put back up, Lt. Bazzy said.
