VBT planners approve revised site plan for new homes in Country Walk

Upland Homes Country Walk has about 15 or 16 lots left on which to build in the subdivision and it wants to build a smaller colonial than it has available.
At the May 26 meeting of the Van Buren Township Planning Commission, Phillip Kuntzman of Upland Homes said his homes are selling well, but there is a problem with getting materials.
“There definitely is a market out there,” he said of single-family homes. He said he didn’t know how many of the new Model 2100 colonials he will sell, but he wanted to have them available for customers.
During the commission’s 31-minute meeting, Dan Power, Director of Planning and Economic Development, explained the situation and asked the commission for conditional approval of the architectural changes. He said township staff will make sure the required setbacks are adhered to and that at least two major design features distinguish adjoining homes.
Treasurer Sharry Budd said she drove out there and it really looks nice. Kuntzman agreed it is a very nice community.
Power gave a report on developments in the township that are on the township’s website. He said as far as residential projects, there are several individual homes being built, along with Victoria Estates Phase 2 with 67 single-family homes and Cobblestone Creek, Phase 3, with 69 single-family homes.
Power said developer Scott Jones still hasn’t submitted a site plan request for his proposed housing development on East Huron River Drive next to Sandy’s Marina.
