Winter and the holiday season are fast approaching. Many see this as a joyous time of year, a chance to come together with friends and family, but it can also be a sad and painful time of year for those that are grieving the death of a loved one.
The idea of facing the holidays without them may cause anxiety and dread. Your loved one might have died recently, or it might have been decades ago, the pain and sadness are still very real.
Each year the Brown Family Center hosts the Tree of Remembrance service for anyone in the community that is missing a loved one.
Please join us on Monday, Nov. 21, at 6:30 p.m. for some light refreshments and fellowship. At 7 p.m., everyone will move outside for a time to remember their loved ones, to speak their names, and to place ornaments on the tree in their honor and their memory. Participants may bring a special ornament or a few will be provided that you can write your loved one’s name on and use.
The Brown Family Center is located at 678 E. Huron River Dr., Belleville, 48111, two blocks east of the David C. Brown Funeral Home. Dress appropriately for outside weather.
Call Patti Monroe, grief counselor at the Brown Family Center (734) 697-5090 with any questions or for more information. The Brown Family Center is owned and operated by the David C. Brown Funeral Home and provides no-cost grief support to anyone in the community.
