The Honey Locust tree planted in memory of Ronald E. Stalmack, 1949-2015, by Randy Brown for Stalmack’s wife, saved the life of a driver on Saturday, Aug. 27.
Belleville Police Chief Dave Robinson said a woman driver suffered a medical emergency while driving on High Street.
Brown said she would have ended up in Belleville Lake if the tree had not stopped the vehicle. This happened just before Goat Day started at Horizon Park.
