The annual Harvest Festival Tractor Parade will leave its staging area in Sumpter Township at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, and proceed north on Sumpter Road at about 10 mph until it gets to the festival in downtown Belleville – where it will stop.
That’s when those waiting can get close to the tractors, take pictures, and talk to the owners.
The parade is hosted by Brad and Bradley Traskos and the staging area is at 44077 Willis Rd. Those wishing to take part in the parade must arrive at the staging area by 10 a.m. on Saturday. Parking is available to drop off tractors and wagons on Friday evening.
The parade route is 10 miles round trip and tractors must go a minimum of 10 mph. All years are welcome. A donation of $10 per tractor will be given to a local charity.
The Traskos family said the parade is weather-permitting and those involved should dress accordingly.
Those with questions may contact Brad Traskos at (734) 732-6431 or Bradley Traskos at (734) 223-0221. RSVPs can be texted to (734) 294-8900.
The Wayne County Farm Bureau Young Farmers organization is sponsoring the event. Young Farmer chairman is Keion Jackson at (734) 686-1828.
Last year, the tractors left Sumpter earlier than planned and many people who wanted to watch the parade found when they got to Belleville at about 11 a.m., the tractor parade was over and the tractors were already parked on the street.
