Three beehives now in place on roof of Belleville library

On May 15, Brian Peterson from Bees in the D set up three hives on the topmost roof of the Belleville Area District Library. The three colonies have settled in well. They will gather nectar and pollen from flowers from all three communities within a three-mile radius of the library. This project would not have been possible without the donations of two bee boxes and a year’s maintenance by Therese Antonelli of Moving the Mitten or the third box from Janis Vanaken. Peterson from Bees in the D moved the frames of bees from their traveling boxes to their new bee boxes.
