Daniel Newkirk and Michael Newkirk of Belleville recently delivered a new custom-made leather holster to Detroit Police Chief James Craig. The chief contacted them after seeing many of his officers wearing custom-made holsters by the Newkirks. He said he wanted one for his daily carry. Since then, he has ordered a second one, Daniel said.
The Newkirks operate their business, Split Second Tacticals, in downtown Belleville in the front half of the Enrica’s Golden Needle tailoring and alterations store at 436 Main Street.
