Belleville High School students and their parents will be able to receive help in seeking financial aid for college in two upcoming sessions set at BHS.
At 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, Andy Zerkel, a financial aid representative from Eastern Michigan University will give a presentation on Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in the main BHS auditorium. This session is called “Paying for College Night/FAFSA Night.”
Then, at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24, there will be “FAFSA Filing Night” in computer labs 84 and 86 at the school. Two financial aid representatives, Julia Delagarza and Natalie Lazuka, will help seniors and their parents file for their FAFSA.
BHS College Advisor Jessica Lopez, said FAFSA is an application that high school seniors have to complete for college to receive financial aid assistance. Some scholarships might also require students to have the FAFSA filled out in order to receive the money, she said.
