At a meeting of about 40 people on Oct. 13, the troubled Belleville Area Little League (BALL) was dissolved and a new Van Buren Area Little League (VBALL) was formed.
Marc Littleson was elected president; Tara Seward, secretary; Debby Rucker, treasurer; and Roland French, player agent.
Littleson said there will be a public meeting in November to elect a vice president. He said all board meetings are open to the public.
Littleson said they are working with the District 16 Director Larry Fix to build the local Little League program back up.
He said six years ago when he became involved with BALL as a coach, there were more than 600 players. Now there are about 360.
He said Canton Township has a very good Little League program and he wants VBALL to be even better than Canton.

What a shocker, VBT wants nothing with Belleville in any name. They’d change Belleville Road to VB Road if they could.
