Members of the Michigan House Democratic Caucus will be holding a series of listening tour town halls throughout the state of Michigan in the coming weeks in order to hear state residents express their top concerns about our state.
The “This is Your House” listening tour events kicked off with a town hall event hosted by state Rep. Henry Yanez, D-Sterling Heights, March 28, and eight more events will take place through April 17.
“Members of the Michigan House Democrats are going to every region of the state, from the tip of the Upper Peninsula to Downriver, and from Muskegon to Flint, in order to make sure that everyone has their say,” said House Democratic Leader Rep. Sam Singh, D-East Lansing.
“Too often, working people feel like they’ve been shut out of the political discussion. We want to make sure they have an opportunity to stand up, speak out and be heard. We look forward to hearing from as many people as possible in the coming weeks.”
Local town halls are:
• Wednesday, April 12, State Rep. Erika Geiss, 7-8:30 p.m., Wayne County Community College, 21000 Northline Road, Taylor; and
• Thursday, April 13, State Rep. Kristy Pagan with special guest U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell, 7 p.m. at Belleville High School, 501 W. Columbia Avenue, Belleville.
