Zackary Lynn Middleton, 25, of Sumpter Township waived his preliminary exam on Jan. 8 in 34th District Court and was bound over by Chief Judge Brian A. Oakley to the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice for a Jan. 22 arraignment on the information.
Middleton is charged with two counts of operating while intoxicated – 3rd time, one count of assaulting a police officer causing injury, and one count of assaulting, resisting, obstructing a police officer on Nov. 1 in Sumpter Township.
The case was delayed for various reasons including adjournment for ongoing plea negotiations and a conflict in dates for the defendant’s court appointed attorney Patrick Nyenhuis.
He had been released from custody with an alcohol tether after posting bond of $5,000/10%. Officer in charge of the case is Sumpter Sgt. Brian Steffani.
Wyatt Lee Prater
Wyatt Lee Prater, 43, of Van Buren Township, waived his preliminary exam before Magistrate Lisa Martin and was bound over for a Jan. 22 arraignment on the information at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice.
Prater is charged with possession of less than 25 grams of narcotics or cocaine on Oct. 12 in Van Buren Township. He is free on $5,000 personal recognizance bond. His court-appointed defense attorney is Nancy Ann Richards.
