Shacori Davoyne Davis, 25, was scheduled for her preliminary exam on Sept. 26 before 34th District Court Judge Brian Oakley on charges of uttering and publishing, lying to a police officer during a criminal investigation, and child abuse (leaving child unattended in vehicle) in Van Buren Township on Sept. 5.
Davis opted to waive her exam and Judge Oakley bound her over to circuit court for an Oct. 10 arraignment on the information. She is free after posting bond of $30,000/10%.
She has another court date of Oct. 5, also at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice, to face a charge of violation of probation. She had been placed on probation after taking a plea deal and pleading guilty to entering a home without the owner’s permission last November. The original charge of second-degree home invasion was dismissed.
Ezel Demar Wright
Ezel Demar Wright, 52, waived his upcoming preliminary exam on a charge of first-degree retail fraud on Sept. 15 in Van Buren Township. Magistrate Lisa Martin bound him over to circuit court for an Oct. 3 arraignment on the information.
Wright had been lodged in the Wayne County Jail on bond of $20,000/10% and he was referred to pretrial services for a bond review.
At circuit court, a plea of guilty was accepted, with sentencing scheduled for Oct. 17.
Jlonte Sterling Booker
On Sept. 19, Jlonte Sterling Booker, 18, waived his upcoming preliminary exam and Magistrate Martin bound him over for an arraignment on the information at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice on Oct. 3. He faces two charges of unlawfully driving away of a motor vehicle, larceny of weapons, and larceny between $200 and $1,000 in VBT on Sept. 7.
On Oct. 3, he received a plea deal and a disposition conference was set for Oct. 17.
There are two other co-defendants on that case with the same charges, but they are yet to be arrested. Warrants are out for Marcus Wilhide, 20, and Juwaun Marshall, 17.
Jhalon Devonmarquece Merida
Jhalon Devonmarquece Merida, 28, waived the preliminary exam on charges of second-degree home invasion and second-degree home invasion (conspiracy) on March 28, 2016 in VBT. Merida is free on $20,000 personal recognizance bond and Magistrate Martin ordered the defendant to be at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice on Oct. 3 for an arraignment on the information.
On Oct. 3, Merida pled guilty to one charge of second-degree home invasion and the other charge (conspiracy) was dismissed. Sentencing will be Oct. 31.
Devon Summers
Devon Summers, 21, waived the preliminary examination on a charge of embezzlement by agent or trustee between $1,000 and $20,000 on Jan. 9 in VBT. Magistrate Martin ordered Summers to be at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice on Oct. 3 for an arraignment on the information. On Oct. 3 a disposition conference was set for Oct. 17.
Jeremy Roshawn Webster
Jeremy Roshawn Webster, 31, waived his preliminary exam and Magistrate Martin bound him over for an arraignment on the information at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice on Oct. 3. He is charged with uttering and publishing in the City of Belleville on Sept. 7. He is free on $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
On Oct. 3, a plea was offered and a disposition conference set for Oct. 17.
