Comcast Cares brings volunteers out to clean up parks

More than 215 people turned out to clean up Van Buren Park, spread mulch, and do other volunteer tasks on Saturday, May 4. It was a Comcast Cares project, but only five Comcast employees needed to be there since the Belleville High School Marching Band and its families did most of the work, along with employees of Van Buren Township. One of the projects for the busy day was cutting up last year’s Comcast Cares t-shirts to make dog toys. Comcast gave the band a generous donation based on the number of volunteers. The BYC shoreline cleanup was worked into other projects, including the Rotary cleanup of the DNR boat launch on Rawsonville Road.
