The Belleville Fire Auxiliary will award two, $500 scholarships to any high school graduate, college students, trade school students, and parents going back to school or finishing school.
Due to COVID, the auxiliary has waived the community service requirements in the past 12 months and also no longer requires applicants to live in the 48111 zip code.
An application can be downloaded from the website at www.fireauxiliary.org and then clicking on Scholarship in the main menu.
The City of Belleville Fire Auxiliary is a Non-Profit 501(c)3 organization founded in 2006. Members are family members/spouses of current and past fire fighters and members of the community. The group provides support to the firefighters, their families and community members. Members assist the firefighters on scene when necessary by providing food, water or additional supplies.
Through fundraising efforts they are able to purchase and/or match grant funding for necessary equipment for the Belleville Fire Department for items not within the city budget, provide two $500 scholarships to eligible candidates every year, donate to the local food pantry, sponsor families during the holidays, and help families displaced from their home due to fire.
