Applications are now available and must be filled out and received by Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Belleville City Hall in order for applicants to compete in the annual Scarecrow Contest, put on by Belleville Parks and Recreation.
Judging will take place during Harvest Fest on Oct. 8 and winners will be announced at the Belleville City Council meeting on Oct. 17. Categories for the judging are Families / Individuals, Youth Groups / Organizations, Adult Groups / Organizations, and Businesses.
To enter, fill out an application and get it to city hall by the deadline, with a $50 deposit check for the scarecrow frame they will loan you. The check will be refunded upon return of the city frame.
Scarecrows must be delivered to city hall no later than Sept. 30 for display placement along Main Street by the Scarecrow Contest Committee. Scarecrows must remain on display until Nov. 1.
