Rawsonville Elementary School held its Career Day recently for students to hear from and interact with local professionals from many different industries and trades.
Participants included U of M Survival Flight nurse, Army National Guard, hair cutting professional, librarian, mathematician, police officer – sales/marketing company owners, photographer, medical home support, sociologist, Mary Kay consultant, attorney, and others.
Each presenter talked with students for 15 minutes to explain what they do, what it takes to do what they do, and how to prepare for these fun careers starting at an early age. The children were attentive, asked great questions and seemed to enjoy every presentation. It was a fun day packed with valuable information that may be a great influence on a child going forward.
Each presenter met with 8 different groups of children during the day, 15 minutes for each session, including grades Kindergarten through fourth.
The event was organized by teachers Debby Cunningham, Spring Jackson and others on the Rawsonville staff.
