July 21 at 4 p.m. was the deadline to file as a candidate in the Nov. 8 election for a four-year seat on the Belleville Area District Library Board.
The Wayne County Elections Division reports three candidates officially filed for the three seats open:
• Joy Cichewicz, 49885 Willis Road, Sumpter Township, an incumbent;
• John Juriga, 327 East Huron River Drive, Belleville, an incumbent;
• Alma Hughes-Grubbs, 47755 Bentley, Van Buren Township, a newcomer.
Michael Boelter, who has served since the beginning on the District Library Board, announced recently he would not seek reelection because of job constraints.

Thank goodness Alma Hughes-Grubbs has added her name to the list of candidates. She is extremely intelligent and Uniquely qualified. I encourage every one to vote for her for the District Library Board.
