Denise Lashawn Courtwright, 43, of Van Buren Township has been charged with one count of Felonious Assault and one count of Domestic Violence, second offense, after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend several times in the chest and arm with a kitchen knife.
The incident started with a verbal argument at 11649 Meadows Lane just before 3:33 a.m. May 2.
When police arrived Jack Ray Lantz, 56, of VBT, was bleeding profusely. He was transported to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
VBT Police Captain Gregory Laurain said Courtwright was very uncooperative and resisted officers.
She was arrested and later charged by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. She was arraigned on the charges at 34th District Court and bond was set at $10,000 cash.
Courtwright was remanded to the Wayne County Jail. A preliminary exam was set for 9 a.m., Wednesday, May 16 at 34th District Court in Romulus.
