A free, 6-week class of basic family history research is beginning Jan. 7 at 6:30 p.m. It will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 941 South Grove, Ypsilanti.
This class will help with the research process as well as to provide step-by-step instruction on using online resources.
The class will help with the organization of family information and with locating records worldwide. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has been involved in the preservation of world records since 1938.
Participants will receive individualized help in finding answers to questions of family ancestry. They will learn of technologies for the preservation and sharing of family history.
The teacher, Kathy Bailey is a local, retired, second-grade teacher who taught a similar class for the community between 1977 and 1987. While the technology has changed the principles are the same, Bailey said.
