Women and children needing safety and a place to stay are invited to call First Step toll-free at the 24-hour Help Line: 1-888-453-5900.
Amy Youngquist of First Step said all their services are free and they provide shelter to women and children for 90 days to a year. She said they just added a new playground for the children.
The website says First Step envisions a community where respect, fair treatment, comprehensive support, and social justice are available to all survivors of domestic and sexual assault and their families.
The mission of First Step is to eliminate both domestic and sexual violence and to provide comprehensive services to individuals and families impacted by these crimes.
