Are you looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity? The Adult Literacy Program at the Belleville Area District Library needs your help!
The library’s Adult Literacy Program is looking for volunteer tutors. With just a few hours of work each week, you can make a difference in a person’s life by improving their reading skills.
To become a tutor, you will need to attend a specialized training program here at the library. The library has scheduled five evening sessions to cover the 15 hours of training needed to become a tutor. Prospective tutors must attend at least four of the following sessions to meet the program requirements: Sept. 22, 26, 29 and Oct. 1, 6.
For more information on the tutor training sessions, stop by the library or call (734) 699-3291. A Tutor Informational Meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 at the library.
