Two sergeants with the Van Buren Township Police Department graduated Friday from the 351st Class of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command.
VBT Director of Public Safety Gregory Laurain congratulated Sgt. Louis Keele and Sgt. Marc Abdilla.
“This 10-month program is the most challenging and rewarding law enforcement management program in the nation and I am proud of you on your successful completion,” Director Laurain said to the two.
Sgt. Keele has been with the department since 1995. During his 19-year career he has served in the road patrol, detective bureau, and cross-trained as a public safety officer in 2008. Sgt. Keele was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2013 and is now assigned as shift supervisor.
