Atchinson Ford purchases Victory used car property next door

Atchinson Ford, at 9800 Belleville Road in Van Buren Township, is in the process of buying the Victory used car property next door.
On Thursday, Atchinson General Manager Craig Atchinson said he has signed the purchase agreement and they will close on the sale in 30 days.
“We’ll make the community proud,” Atchinson said of the expansion of its new and used car business into the newly renovated property next door.
In March 2011 the Van Buren Township Board of Trustees approved special land use for Victory Pre-Owned Vehicles, 9700 Belleville Road, in the former Championship Motor Sports building, between Atchinson Ford and the car wash on Belleville Road.
The used-car lot was owned by Capital Properties, LLC, which also owns Victory Honda in Plymouth and Victory Toyota on Michigan Avenue in Canton.
The property had 54 spaces the owners used for display of used cars and trucks and 18 spaces for parking for customers and employees.
Victory recently vacated the property.
Atchinson Ford celebrated its 50th anniversary of serving the community in 2011. It opened in the City of Belleville on Sept. 11, 1961 and later moved to the Belleville Road location. Craig Atchinson is the third generation in the family to operate the business.
