Kaleb Augustus Chelli
Kaleb Augustus Chelli of Van Buren Township was charged with domestic violence on Nov. 5 in Van Buren Township. He was scheduled for remote arraignment/pre-trial at 34th District Court on Dec. 17 and the arraignment was held virtually. The defendant is in rehab in Colorado. Personal bond is $5,000. A final pre-trial was set for Jan. 13 and the defendant and the complaining victim must appear.
On Jan. 13, a final pre-trial was set for Feb. 17. The complaining victim said she was not “fully interested” in pursuing the prosecution unless the defendant follows through with treatment.
Chad Michael Jones
Chad Michael Jones of Sumpter Township was charged by Western Wayne Narcotics with being in possession of controlled substances (narcotic or cocaine less than 25 grams) on July 31, 2024. That charge was reduced in a plea deal to use of controlled substances and sentencing was set for Jan. 15. The defendant was in custody, so Judge Martin adjourned sentencing until March 2.
Jason William Beesley
Jason William Beesley, 45, of Belleville was charged with operating while reading, typing or sending a text message on Dec. 17, 2025 in Van Buren Township. At an informal hearing before Judge Teresa Patton on Jan. 21, the charge was reduced to double parking. He was fined $300.
Rebecca Martell
Rebecca Martell of Westland was charged with two counts of possession of controlled substances on April 24, 2025 in Van Buren Township. She was video-arraigned in custody at 34th district court on Jan. 2, 2026 and a Jan. 13 probable cause conference and a Jan. 27 preliminary exam set. Personal bond was set at $5,000. On Jan. 13, she pled guilty to reduced counts of use of controlled substances. Her file was sent to probation for an interview and a recommendation on sentencing.
Lamar Allen Respress
Lamar Allen Respress of Detroit was video-arraigned in custody on Oct. 29 on a charge of larceny by conversion, $1,000 to $20,000, in Sumpter Township on June 6, 2023. Bond was set at $20,000/10%. A probable cause conference was scheduled for Nov. 12 and a preliminary exam for Nov. 19. The exam was removed from the calendar and reset for Dec. 3. On Dec. 2, he called the court to say he had a family emergency in Georgia and had to go be with his ill grandmother. He asked for his exam by zoom and was told the court doesn’t do it that way. The exam was reset for Dec. 22 and he failed to appear. A bench warrant order was issued.
Raven Symone Walker
Raven Symone Walker of Detroit, and previously of Sumpter Township, was video-arraigned in custody on Dec. 11 on a charge of domestic violence – second offense notice on Dec. 9 in Sumpter Township. Personal bond is $1,000.
A remote pretrial was held Dec. 22 and a final pretrial set for Jan. 6, 2026. The complaining witness must appear. On Jan. 6, the complaining victim failed to appear and the charge was dismissed.
Benjamin David Mee
Benjamin David Mee, previously of Van Buren Township and now of Riverview, was video-arraigned in custody on Nov. 3 on a charge of domestic violence in Van Buren Township on Oct. 31. Bond was set at $5,000/10% and a remote pretrial on Nov. 19. He then had a final pretrial set for Dec. 17, when it was dismissed on a motion of the defendant. Case closed.
