The Keystone Academy board met on Sept. 11. Principal Jorvonna Drain welcomed everyone at the meeting and stated that the new school year opened smoothly and there are no discipline problems to report at this time.
Andrew Roth, board relations representative from National Heritage Academies, reported that financially the school is still waiting for a budget from the State of Michigan. He said that even if the money doesn’t come in soon that the school is fine financially and has enough funds to operate until the state comes through.
The board went into closed session to discuss the school emergency operations plan.
In other business at the 60-minute meeting, the board:
• Appointed a representative to oversee the approval of the Teacher Evaluation and Employee Certification. The appointee is Board President Chris Mihely;
• Approved the 2025-2026 course offerings for the students;
• Approved the school emergency operations plan;
• Approved the cardiac emergency response plan; and
