At 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, the Belleville City Council met in closed-door session for 38 minutes on an undisclosed issue, which it said was exempt from public discussion by state or federal statute.
The council went back into regular session and adjourned without taking vote except to adjourn. Mayor Pro-Tem Ken Voigt was the only council member absent.
