State Rep. Joe Bellino, R-Monroe, has been named chair of the House Energy Committee for a second consecutive term, according to House Speaker Jason Wentworth.
The House Energy Policy Committee deliberates on all issues related to Michigan’s energy situation. This includes the generation of energy transmission throughout the grid and delivery to end users such as schools, businesses, and residences.
“It’s an honor to again lead the House Energy Committee,” Bellino said. “We were able to get a lot accomplished together last term, but there’s still always more to be done on behalf of Michigan’s families. I’m looking forward to continuing to advocate for common-sense solutions going into this new term that protect ratepayers across our state.”
Last term, Rep. Bellino worked with community and utility leaders on policies to reduce costly and unnecessary bureaucracy, fight fraud, and provide tax relief to Michigan families.
“I’m looking forward to working together with other legislators to deliver solutions to better serve Michigan’s families,” Bellino said.
Bellino will also serve for the next two years as a member of the House Regulatory Reform, Agriculture, and Local Government and Municipal Finance committees.
Bellino’s represents the 17th District which includes Sumpter Township.
