VBT Board approves fireworks display from Belleville Lake July 3

At the virtual Zoom meeting of the Van Buren Township Board of Trustees on June 2, the board unanimously approved a Fireworks Display Permit for the Michigan Fireworks Club.
The club will set off fireworks on July 3 from a barge on Belleville Lake near the Belleville Yacht Club, 831 E. Huron River Dr. The rain date is July 4.
The permit was requested by Joshua Edwards of the BYC, who is Fireworks Club president. The club put on a large fireworks display last year in this same format that brought praise from those in the community who watched the show from afar. The BYC is a private men’s club.
Edwards said the BYC is supporting the club and, “We just like to do this for the community.”
