Democrat candidates for Sumpter Township supervisor, clerk, and treasurer are running unopposed for their seats in the Nov. 8 General Election. All are incumbents: Supervisor John Morgan, Clerk Clarence Hoffman, and Treasurer Alan Bates.
But the four open Democrat trustee positions are being challenged by a Republican.
Democrat incumbent candidates winning the August primary to be on the ballot for four trustee posts are: Peggy Miller, Don LaPorte, Matthew Oddy, and Don Swinson,
They are being challenged by Republican Tim Rush, who served on the board in the past.
All the candidates were profiled in the July 9 issue of the Independent, previous to the August primary election.
