Michael David McDaniel
Michael David McDaniel, 26, of Van Buren Township, is charged with intent to do great bodily harm less than death (strangulation) and assault on a pregnant person on Jan. 17, 2025 in Van Buren Township. His probable cause conference was set for Feb. 19 and adjourned until March 12 for discovery. Preliminary exam was April 23 and he was bound over to circuit court for an arraignment on the information. Calendar conference was July 17 and final conference Sept. 4. A tether violation was cited on Sept. 15 and he was remanded. A final conference is Sept. 24 and a jury trial Oct. 27.
His probable cause conference on a charge of felonious assault and domestic violence on Sept. 5 in Van Buren Township was held Sept. 17. A live exam was set for Sept. 24.
Adam William Gillikin
Adam William Gillikin of Van Buren Township had been scheduled for a circuit court jury trial on Aug. 20, but that was canceled and reset for Oct. 14 at the request of the prosecution.
Gillikin, 37, is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (felonious assault) and felony firearm (pneumatic gun) on Nov. 17, 2024 in Van Buren Township.
After a lengthy preliminary exam on April 30, 2025, 34th District Court Chief Judge Brian A. Oakley reluctantly bound the defendant over to circuit court. The judge said he was unhappy with the prosecution, calling it a “crap case that shouldn’t have been brought.”
After the prosecutor produced the Michigan law involved, Judge Oakley said, “The Legislature in their wisdom” misinterprets a pellet gun.” He said that law needs to be updated but the current law means he had to bind the defendant over.
Deandre Cortez Williams
Deandre Cortez Williams of Sumpter Township was arraigned Aug. 19 on charges of possession of firearms by a prohibited person, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of felony firearms and operating a motor vehicle without security on Aug. 17 in Van Buren Township. A probable cause conference was held Aug. 27 and preliminary exam held Sept. 3. Bond is $5,000/10%. The defendant was labeled a habitual offender – second offense notice. After his exam was held he was bound over to circuit court for an arraignment on the information on Sept. 17. Final conference is Nov. 12.
Stephen Boyd Wiley
Stephen Boyd Wiley of Belleville was arraigned on Aug. 25 on charges of assault with a deadly weapon (felonious assault) and assault or assault and battery on Aug. 23 in Sumpter Township. He was assigned bond of $5,000/10% and is to have no contact with the complaining parties and not return to the address of the incident. Probable cause conference was held Sept. 3 and a preliminary exam was set for Sept. 10. The first charge of assault was dismissed by the party. A remote pretrial on the second charge was set for Sept. 24.
Cody Ray Roberts
Cody Ray Roberts of Westland is charged with assault to do great bodily harm less than murder, domestic violence, driving while license suspended, and malicious destruction of property on Aug. 13 in Sumpter Township. He was arraigned out-county on Aug. 16 and personal bond set at $75,000. A probable cause conference was held Aug. 27 and a preliminary exam set for Sept. 3. At that time it was adjourned for a probable cause conference set for Sept. 10 and then reset for Oct. 15.
Tanya Joy Kinnen
Tanya Joy Kinnen of Garden City is charged with police officer assault on Feb. 21, 2023 in the city of Belleville. She failed to appear for her preliminary examinations three times and bench warrants were issued. On June 6 she was scheduled for a June 18 probable cause conference. She appeared and her warrant was recalled. A preliminary exam was set for Sept. 3. She failed to appear and a bench warrant was issued.
Marlene Jones
Marlene Jones, 58, of Belleville is charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (felony assault) and one count of domestic violence-Romulus on June 25, 2025 in the city of Belleville. She was video-arraigned in custody on June 27. Personal bond was set at $10,000 and a probable cause conference scheduled for July 9 and then on July 9 reset for July 23. A preliminary exam was held Sept. 3 and she was bound over to circuit court for a Sept. 17 arraignment on the information, reset for Sept. 22.
Alexandrea Doris Bell
Alexandrea Doris Bell of Detroit was charged with receiving and concealing a stolen vehicle and driving while license suspended in Van Buren Township on July 9. She was video-arraigned in custody on July 10. Bond was $5,000/10% and a probable cause conference held July 23. Preliminary exam was Sept. 3 and the complaining victim failed to appear. Charges were dismissed.
Jamil Robert Fuller
Jamil Robert Fuller of Van Buren Township is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, fleeing police in a vehicle, and weapons on May 24, 2024 in Van Buren Township. The charges were entered July 7, 2025 and a warrant was issued. He was arraigned July 17 and the warrant lifted. His probable cause conference was set for July 30, 2025 and then the preliminary exam was scheduled for Sept. 3.
On Sept. 3, the defense attorney said his client was in the hospital after a serious car accident and was having surgery that day. The case will be reviewed on Oct. 15.
Enrique Jose Cano-Hernandez
Enrique Jose Cano-Hernandez of Ypsilanti was video-arraigned at 34th District Court while in custody on June 6 charged with driving while license suspended on Nov. 4, 2019 in Van Buren Township. Personal bond was set at $5,000 and a remote pretrial for July 3.
He also was arraigned on charges of receiving and concealing a stolen vehicle and driving while license suspended on June 3. Personal bond was set at $5,000 and was present for his probable cause conference on June 18 from the Wayne County Jail. A preliminary exam in person was set for July 30 and the defendant appeared on zoom at 3:57 p.m. from the jail. Judge Oakley approved an adjournment of the exam until Sept. 3 in person at the courthouse.
At that time a probable cause conference was set for Nov. 26 to give time for a possible plea.
Milaun Leigh White
Milaun Leigh White, 23, of Southfield is charged with operating without security and driving while license suspended on June 22, 2025 in the city of Belleville. On July 23, an arraignment/pretrial was set for Sept. 3. He failed to appear and a bench warrant was issued.
Crystal Shenea Hester
Crystal Shenea Hester of Cincinnati, OH is charge with operating while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated-3rd in Sumpter Township on Jan. 11, 2024. She was arraigned on Sept. 3, 2025 and her probable cause conference set for Sept. 24. Personal bond is $1,000.
Lauren Francis Phillips
Lauren Francis Phillips of Van Buren Township is charged with two counts of felonious assault (assault with a dangerous weapon) and one of domestic violence on July 18 in Van Buren Township. She was video-arraigned in custody on July 18 and a probable cause conference set for July 30. Personal bond is $5,000. On July 30, the defendant was in the hospital so the probable cause conference was adjourned until Sept. 3. She was still in a treatment center so the probable cause conference was adjourned until Oct. 8.
Jeremy Daniel Schuh
Jeremy Daniel Schuh, 44, of Ypsilanti is charged with receiving and concealing stolen property on Sept. 13, 2024 in Van Buren Township. He was scheduled for a remote arraignment/pretrial on Aug. 6, but he failed to appear. A show-cause hearing was set for Sept. 3. He failed to appear so a bench warrant was issued.
Kaleal Darnell Smith
Kaleal Darnell Smith of Detroit is charged with malicious destruction of personal property less than $200 on June 9 in Sumpter Township. He was arraigned on June 12 and personal bond set at $500. An in-person pretrial was set for July 30 and the defendant failed to appear. A bench warrant was issued. A show-cause hearing was held Aug. 6 and then a pre-hearing held Sept. 3.
A final pretrial was set for Oct. 22 and the complaining witness must appear.
Simone Alexandria Moore
Simone Alexandria Moore of Sumpter Township on Sept. 9 was sentenced to a fine of $1,250 for pleading guilty to a charge of operating while visibly impaired on March 3 in Sumpter Township. This charge was reduced from the original charge of operating while intoxicated. She also must have alcohol education within 30 days and will be on probation for 12 months.
Rayshaun Anthony Jackson
Rayshaun Anthony Jackson of Detroit was fined $1,250 for pleading guilty to a charge of operating while visibly impaired, reduced from the original operating while intoxicated on Feb. 14 in Sumpter Township. He must have alcohol education within 30 days and be random tested two times a month. There are 12 months of probation.
Rhonda Irene Sullivan
Rhona Irene Sullivan of Belleville on Sept. 9 was fined $750 for pleading guilty to a charge of operating while visibly impaired on Feb. 9 in Sumpter Township. This was reduced from the original charge of operating with a blood alcohol content of .17 or more. She must have 24 hours of alcohol education within 60 days.
Dakota Robert Stubbs-Crossley
Dakota Robert Stubbs-Crossley of Maybee on Sept. 9 was sentenced to a fine of $1,390 for pleading guilty to operating while visibly impaired on Nov. 28, 2024 in Sumpter Township. This is reduced from the original charge of operating with blood alcohol content of .17 or more. He has 18 months of probation and a delayed sentence. Testing will be through Washtenaw and he must do 48 hours of community service within 90 days.
