Worldwide, more than 14,000 children die from malnutrition every day. In our own country 17.5 million households struggle with hunger daily. Rotary International District 6400 which includes Rotary members from Southeast Michigan and Canada and includes Belleville, Romulus, and Huron Township, is conducting an event as part of Feed The World Day 2018 to address these critical problems.
This year’s event, which consists of packaging up to 100,000 bags of food for hungry kids, will be held at the Wayne County Community College Ted Scott Campus, 9555 Haggerty Rd, Belleville, on Saturday morning, Nov 3.
The public is encouraged to help Rotarians and other volunteers in this ambitious undertaking. More volunteers are needed to help meet our goals for the packaging of this food.
Individuals or groups are welcome. Please consider helping. Note, a generous portion of the food packaged will stay right here and in other local area communities to help our fellow neighbors.
We ask everyone who wants to help in this battle against hunger to sign up as soon as possible. Sign up is on line at https://rotaryftw2018.eventbrite.com/ .
Just click on “REGISTER” when you get to the site. There are opportunities to work on set-up, 6:30-8 a.m., or packaging from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Your help is needed to meet our goal.
Organization of Feed the World 2018 is by Kids Coalition Against Hunger, a humanitarian organization whose mission is to reduce the number of hungry children and feed starving children.
