The Belleville Wrestling Club sent 15 boys and girls to Battle Creek for three days to compete in the Michigan Youth Wrestling Association’s (MYWA) State Championships.
Seven of these wrestlers walked away with all-state honors by placing in the top eight in their respective age groups and weight classes.
Two wrestlers were crowned State Champions.
Open Division: 1st place, Clayton Jones; 3rd place, Blake Williams; 6th place, Austin Martin and Jeremiah Jones.
Girls’ Division: 1st place, Erin Bohmont (2x state champion); 2nd place, Emaline Hicks; 4th place, Mary-Alice Lynch.
Three BWC wrestlers attended the National Tournament also in Battle Creek this past weekend. Second place, Erin Bohmont; 3rd place, Blake Williams; 8th place, Connor Majewski.
