On Nov. 25, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4434 in Belleville presented awards to the student winners in the post’s local Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen essay contests.
Jeremiah Jones won first place in the Voice of Democracy contest and Kanira E. Gregory won second place. Both are students at Belleville High School.
Micaya P. Cannon won first place in the Patriot’s Pen contest and Olivia Mae Dickens won second place. Both are students at McBride Middle School.
The two winners will proceed on to the district contests.
Contest chairman is Past Post Commander Robert Krouse.
