Van Buren Township police said a man being pursued for four murders in Detroit on Monday morning, carjacked a vehicle in the area of Belleville Road, north of Tyler Road, before heading south.
They said he may have been driving a black 2014 Ford Fusion.
Soon after the report from Van Buren Township police, the man reportedly fired shots at police officers at a truck stop along I-280 near the Ohio Turnpike before turning the gun on himself.
George Anthony Davis, Jr., was being sought for shooting and killing three people at a gas station in Detroit and one more — his cousin — in a home nearby on Detroit’s west side.
