On Saturday morning, Nov. 5, Van Buren Township Recreation Director Jennifer Zaenglein, left, and her daughter Ryann, 15, supervised a new event at the township — the Punkin’ Roll Out – at the sledding hill at Van Buren Park.
The idea was to carry your old Halloween pumpkins up the hill and then roll them down the hill. Some hit the ramps placed part way down and some rolled under the net and headed toward spectators.
Cider and fresh, warm donuts were also a part of the activities. The old pumpkins were to be picked up and used by farmers and hunters.
