Mary Sherwood told the Sumpter Township Board of Trustees at its Jan. 13 meeting that she comes to the meetings to hear what the board is doing.
But, she said, the board has been “receiving and filing” all its reports, so she can’t know what they are doing.
“Do you think the public is not interested?” she asked. “Is it to save time?”
Supervisor John Morgan said he is chairing the meetings, “So, it’s my thing.”
He said he feels most of the people at the meeting want to get out and go to a game or something else, but maybe he’s wrong.
Sherwood said the board seldom gives a report any more.
“I’ll discourage that from now on,” Supervisor Morgan said.
This discussion was at the end of the meeting. At that meeting the following reports were not given, but just received and filed: Water & Sewer, Police, Building/Ordinance, Fire, and Treasurer.
The Attorney did give a report on the property being given to the township and a vote was taken, even though his report was one of those voted to be received and filed.
